Masonry Apprenticeship Bricklayers and Cement Finishers

Qualified instructors:

Instructors are trained at a specially designed program at the University of Tennessee annually.

Tuition cost:

Books and basic tool kit are provided at no cost.  There is no charge for classroom training.

Applicant qualifications: 

Must have high school diploma or GED.

Program description: This is a four-year program that includes 48 months of paid on the job training and 576 classroom hours.  Applications are accepted annually, typically in March. 
It is recommended interested applicants call the contact person for exact dates.

Program: South Central Ohio District Council of Carpenters Apprenticeship 

Qualified instructors: Instructors receive training at the International Training Center annually.

Tuition cost: There is no charge for training.

Applicant qualifications:  Must have high school diploma or GED.

Program description: The program requires 5200 minimum hours of on-the-job training and 640 classroom hours.

Program: Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., Central Ohio Chapter
Qualified instructors: The instructors are certified through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).  The program is approved by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (BAT); the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council (OSAC); and accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).

Tuition cost: Costs are typically paid by the student’s employer.

Applicant qualifications:  Must be 18 years old and have high school diploma or equivalent.

Program description: The four-year program covers commercial and residential carpentry.  Students are eligible for college credit toward a Construction Management/Technical Studies Associate Degree with local college(s).  Students can earn money while learning the trade.  Students registered as apprentices must also complete 8000 hours of on-the-job training.

 I’m interested in a career in the ELECTRICAL TRADES … so, now what?

LOCAL TRAINING OPTIONS:
Program: Electrical Trades Center Apprenticeship Program

Qualified instructors: Instructors are trained at a specially designed program at the University of Tennessee annually.

Tuition cost: No tuition, however apprentices are required to purchase necessary books at cost.

Applicant qualifications:  Must be 18 years old before July 1, have a GED or high school diploma and a credit in algebra.

Program description: The program for Inside Wireman is five-years and students can earn money and receive on the job training while attending classes. JATC also offers a two-year residential program and a three-year installer technician program. Interviews are held the first Monday of every month. Completion rate is more than 90%.
