The Builders Exchange offers a comprehensive safety program, designed to assist commercial construction companies with their accident prevention and OSHA compliance efforts.

The Exchange Safety Program features a wide range of training courses specific for the industry. From core courses to regulation-specific classes, you’ll find quality behind every course.  

In addition to the core and regulation-specific classes, the Exchange Safety Program provides safety and hazard communication manuals, monthly breakfast meetings, a resource library and an annual awards program.

Employees of BX Workers' Compensation Group firms are able to participate in many of our safety trainings at a reduced rate. All the BX offerings are competitively prices for both members and nonmembers.

Instructors include authorized trainers from OSHA, the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI), lawyers, consultants and leaders in the industry.

Some of the courses offered at the Exchange are available for credit from the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB) in the area of health and safety.  

Sponsored by the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio, the Safety Council of Greater Columbus (SCGC) is a state-approved safety council offering safety training and information to all employers regardless of their affiliation with the BX.

Participation incentive from BWC:

Employers can earn a 2% workers' compensation premium discount for meeting all of the eligibility requirements and an additional 2% performance bonus for reducing either frequency or severity by 10%, or with maintenance of both frequency and severity at zero. Employers must meet all eligibility requirements to be eligible for the performance bonus. (Self-insuring employers and state agencies are excluded from the discount offer but are encouraged to participate in the safety council program.)
