The
BX "Idea Exchange" Groups
|
The
BX "Idea Exchange" Groups are an informal approach to meeting
BX members. They were created to simply bring
small groups of members together in an informal setting to:
- Exchange
Ideas
- View New
Issues
- Network
At the end of each year,
all participating Groups meet in an Industry Roundtable presentation to
summarize and discuss prevalent issues raised in individual meetings
and meet other members participating in
the I-X Groups.
Group Structure
and Summary:
-
Each
Group is composed of 20 to 25 individuals who
are committed to attend and actively participate in the
program.
-
Groups
typically meet for about an hour-and-a-half, on a regular basis
throughout a two-year term, to discuss all aspects of the
commercial construction industry.
-
Each
I-X Group consists of a "core" group composed of
individuals including an architect, engineer, general contractors,
subcontractors, suppliers, attorneys, accountants and
industry-related representatives.
-
Discussion
topics are established and scheduled by each group at the very
first meeting and Group members should volunteer to
"introduce" topics.
-
Group
meeting times for the year are scheduled at first meeting of that
new year.
-
Location
of meetings for the year are established at first meeting of that
year. Participants should volunteer to host a meeting at their
location. If a location is not available among group members, the
BX may be used as a possible location between the hours of 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m. if room is available.
-
A BX
staff representative will attend all group gatherings for a better
understanding and response to industry issues.
