MARCH 2010

MANAGING THE PROBLEM PROJECT*

In this straight-forward presentation attendees will learn how to recognize the warning signals that inform you the job is in trouble and the steps you can take to manage and stem the damages and risks. Specifically for architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors, this course offers insights and practical methods for decision-makers and managers trying to handle the fall-out that can occur when a project turns ugly.

Date: Thursday, March 18
Time: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Fee: $229 for members, $329 for nonmembers

 

APRIL 2010

BASIC BUILDING LAYOUT SKILLS IN CONSTRUCTION*

In this course, field employees will learn the solid basics of building layout essential to a successful project. Employees will develop the ability to spot problems and improve the accuracy during the building layout phase which can help prevent future costs and delays.  

Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 20, 22, 27 and 29 
Time: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Fee: $229 for members, $329 for nonmembers

 

MAY 2010

SUCCESSFUL PROJECT DOCUMENTATION*

The course trains field managers to properly document project progress and empower them to identify problems and find solutions if something goes wrong on the jobsite.

Date: Tuesday and Thursday, May 4 and 6 
Time: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Fee: $159 for members, $259 for nonmembers

INTRODUCTION TO CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS*

Blueprint reading is a fundamental skill crucial to the industry and it is important that your entire staff understand the basics. Through lecture and hands-on work with commercial drawings this introductory course instructed by an architect and a contactor provides members of your construction team, from office personnel to field employees, the fundamental knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints.  

Date: Tuesday and Thursday, May 18 and 20
Time: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Fee: $159 for members, $259 for nonmembers
