AUGUST 2008

INTRODUCTION TO CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS *

Blueprint reading is a fundamental skill crucial to the industry and it is important that your entire staff understand the basics. Through lecture and hands-on work with commercial drawings this introductory course instructed by an architect and a contractor provides members of your construction team, from office personnel to field employees, the fundamental knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints.

Time: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

SEPTEMBER 2008

 

FIELD SUPERVISION & JOBSITE MANAGEMENT I *

Learn the basic principles and techniques required to handle the day-to-day management of a jobsite from experienced industry professionals.  This course is ideal for new field superintendents, foremen, leadmen and office coordinators with less than six months experience. 

Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 9, 11, 16, 18, 23 and 25
Time: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Fee: $229 for members, $329 for nonmembers

OCILB LICENSE RENEWAL CLASSES

The Builders Exchange offers 10-hour renewal classes for OCILB HVAC and Electrical license holders.  Whether you prefer to attend two weeknight sessions or one Saturday session, the class format allows you to obtain the hours you need to renew your license.

Time: 3:30 to 9 p.m.
Fee: $200 for members, $250 for nonmembers

Date: Saturday, Nov. 8
Time: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A LAYMAN’S LOOK AT CONSTRUCTION

This is an excellent introduction to the building process, emphasizing the roles and responsibilities of non-technical construction personnel in the field office.
