Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry, OSHA 510  * Pre-Requisite for the OSHA 500 * This course reviews OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as construction safety and health principles. Unlike the OSHA 30-Hour Training Course, which focuses on hazard recognition, the OSHA 510 focuses on scope and application of the OSHA construction standards. Special emphasis is placed on those areas that are the most hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guide. Students completing this course should be able to: recognize various construction processes, materials, and equipment identify the most common hazards with construction industry workplace associate them with the applicable OSHA standards and consensus standards recommend feasible abatement methods for these hazards and violations of these standards Instructor: Tim Roberts (Safety Alliance, LLC) Date/Time: Tuesday through Friday, June 22-25, 2010 Registration: 7:30 a.m. Program: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 8 a.m. to noon on day 4 Location: Builders Exchange of Central Ohio, 1175 Dublin Rd., Columbus, Ohio Cost: $800 Credits Awarded: 2.5 OSHA CEU 4.34 ABIH (Industrial Hygiene) CM points 1 external meeting credit for safety council firms Refund Policy Tuition minus 5% administration charge will be refunded if written cancellation is received two weeks prior to the program date.  Registration is nonrefundable within two weeks of the course date. Substitutions may be made at any time, but transfers to future courses cannot be made within the two-week nonrefundable period. The university reserves the right to cancel programs if necessary. In this event, the university's liability is limited to the full refund of your registration fee. Group Discount Any organization sending three or more students to a single program and same date is entitled to a 10% discount on each registration fee. Alumni Discount Alumni and currently enrolled full-time students of the University of Cincinnati are entitled to a 10 percent discount on their registration fees.  Degree and year of graduation must accompany all registrations requesting the discount.
