BX Craftsmanship Award Recipient
Craftsman Mark Rosselet is responsible for the electrical work at Grant Hospital’s revitalization project. Rosselet led a crew of 38 to complete work throughout the new addition, from the basement to the penthouse. The
job included the installation of 13 electrical systems and 3,000 light
fixtures. More than 1 million feet of wire and 240,000 feet of conduit
were used on the project. Rosselet used his experience to create coordination drawings with other trades, lay out the work and implement the installation process. Because multiple mechanical and electrical systems were crossing one another at different elevations and space was limited, his drawings were imperative to the project’s success. Quarters were so tight in some areas, only one inch of extra space existed between mechanical and electrical work. To overcome this obstacle, conduit and equipment placement had to be thoroughly planned prior to installation, ensuring the shortest routing of conduits and crossing. A member of Electrical Workers Local Union 683, Rosselet has worked in the industry for 29 years, 20 with Mid-City Electric. Architect: URS
Corp. Rosselet also received a Craftsmanship Award in 2003 for his work at Chase Manhattan Tech Center. He attended Southeast Career Center and began his career after high school. | Back to Craftsmanship Main Page | | BX Home Page | Updated 10/18/2007 |
