The Craftsman:  Steve Adams of Northstar Fire Protection

His Winning Work:  Sprinkler installation at Worthington Christian Church

The detailed craftsmanship of Steve Adams is apparent when searching for the sprinkler system in the worship center of the Worthington Christian Church.

Adams’ preparation and planning was crucial to the installation of the sprinkler system, which needed to be hidden from view while being in an exposed area. A major challenge was that the crew had to set up and tear down daily to accommodate the church’s ongoing schedule of services and events.

Approximately 50 % of the pipe was pre-fabricated. Adams had to work in a room filled with pews, platforms and a 60-foot ceiling with varied slopes. He was meticulous in making sure the job was done correctly. He set up a paint shop on-site to paint the pipes and touch up as they were being installed.

Adams has been employed with Northstar Fire Protection for the past three years of his 27-year career. He is a member of Road Sprinkler Fitters Union Local 669.
