2010 Cornerstone Award
Nominations
The Builders Exchange
Cornerstone Award was created in 1954 to honor an individual who
exemplifies outstanding service and commitment to the local construction
industry and community. Since that time, 55 professionals have been
recognized with the industry’s highest leadership honor.
Nominees are rated on
several criteria including:

their level of BX
participation,
-
their community
involvement,
-
their impact on the
local commercial construction industry,
-
years of service to
the industry and
-
professionalism and
ethics.
The
BX Cornerstone Review Committee is currently evaluating the nominations
received this year.
The 56th recipient of the
Builders Exchange Cornerstone Award will be announced in March 2010, with
the presentation of the award scheduled as part of the 2010 BX Annual
Meeting on November 18.

Parr
Peterson
(Paul Peterson Co.)

Parr Peterson, president
of Paul Peterson Co., has been named the 2009 BX Cornerstone recipient.
A longtime member and
supporter of the BX, Peterson has been involved in the industry for more
than 30 years.
The award, considered to
be the highest honor presented by the central Ohio construction industry,
recognizes an individual’s leadership contributions to the community,
the industry and the Exchange.
Peterson served on the BX
Board of Directors for nine years, serving as president in 2004.
He also served on the Builders Exchange Foundation Board of
Directors. Peterson remains involved
with the BX as a speaker for the Outreach program, an ambassador for the
membership department and an instructor for safety programs.
In addition to his BX
involvement, Peterson serves on the board of the Ohio Contractors
Association.
He is past president of the Upper Arlington Civic Association and
is a volunteer for the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center.
The Cornerstone Award was
officially presented to Peterson on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at the Aladdin
Shrine Center
when
he was honored among his peers at the 117th Annual Meeting of the
Builders Exchange.
